I used a 35mm camera build-in self-timer to document in B&W film various fragments, happenstance and indecisive moments of my walk to and from work in NYC. The camera is hanging from my neck as I attempted to limit any intentionality of framing after pressing the shutter release. The delay creates anticipation for the shot, and the camera determines the exact moment of capture. However, I do not subtract myself from the photo taking equation; instead, I find an inadequate replacement; the camera system takes over the capture of my surroundings.
